Failing that, I may have to disable user account authentication on the servers and use an unofficial launcher version instead. With any luck we can continue as we do now not using Microsoft accounts. I host a few Minecraft Java Edition servers for 1.8.9 in a Debian VM with user account authentication enabled and still working with Mojang. In Windows, I've set compatibility to Windows XP for the game installer, and this installs and uses the legacy style Minecraft Java launcher, " launcher.jar," launcher version 1.6.93 which can just be copied over and run in the various Linux distros as well that use the compatible Java version - this launcher works well for me in Manjaro too. However, we are using an older style official launcher. This is the case for the two additional accounts in my family as well. March 10th was supposedly the last day whereby you had to migrate to a Microsoft account, but I have not and still just use the old standard Mojang account without issue. As of now at least I can still log in fine to my Minecraft account without a Microsoft account. I use version 8 for this as well in Debian, but to run legacy Minecraft servers. I'm posting here to help clear up a few points that were brought up.
